(JAM) is a music festival held every April in recognition of the significant contribution that jazz music has made to society. The aim of this annual event is to pay tribute to jazz for its historic and cultural significance by encouraging schools, governments and organizations to participate in various events such as free jazz concerts and educational programs.
BlueBird Educational Foundation, Inc. a non-profit, 501 C-3, corporation is dedicated to enriching the quality of life of the youth, adults, and visitors of the Fort Pierce and St Lucie County communities by sponsoring and/or promoting quality musical performances and providing musical education and scholarships for local youth and adults. BlueBird Educational Foundation, Inc. whose mission is to broaden the cultural arts (music) exposure of the residents of Fort Pierce and St. Lucie County by presenting educational workshops, demonstrations, lectures, and concerts in schools and various other venues with students and for the general public.
We also plan to provide assistance and support to local music education programs, with our goal being to offset some of costs associated with the musical education of young people, adults, and senior’s in our area. In this time of budget cuts and the strangulation of funding for the arts our goal is to help young people and others in their pursuit of the arts. There is a dyer need for this education and assistance in the St. Lucie County area. In this time of budget cuts, federal and state funding cut backs and decreasing funding to schools and communities, musical education is receiving drastic cut backs or in some cases, cut from school programs. Our organization’s goal is to help young people and others in their pursuit of music which will be a complete benefit to the community. When it comes to musical variety, commitment to education and a desire to deliver quality entertainment to our community, you told us “NO ONE does it better”.
BlueBird educational Foundation is expected to be mainly supported by grants or donation from individuals and corporations with some donations, in the form of grants, from federal, state and/or local governmental agencies.
"Expose the St. Lucie County community, in particular young people, to diverse musical genres, including, but not limited to jazz, blues, and classical, with the intent of deepening music appreciation and expanding cultural horizons. This will be accomplished by raising funds to offer: concerts/festivals, workshops, master classes, and musical instruments to local students who could not otherwise afford them."
